Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo – Book Review

The concluding part of the King of Scars duology, Rule of Wolves is a supremely satisfying end. Excellent character arcs all throughout, highly pulsating action, and a couple of twists that I did not see coming.

Bardugo’s Grishaverse has endless possibilities and this duology is an excellent example of that. The protagonists in this duology were barely supporting characters in the original Shadow & Bone Trilogy and The Six of Crows Duology. However, Bardugo builds them up into such engaging characters, without it ever looking hurried or forced.

For anyone wanting to start reading a series within Grishaverse, beginning at Shadow & Bone Trilogy will provide maximum context, followed by Six of Crows Duology and picking this up in the end. That is in fact the publishing order as well. However, if you are not sure of what this universe has to offer, then I would recommend Six of Crows (that's where I started). It will only give you a flavor of the magical world but will also offer the best characters in the Grishaverse, coupled with a fabulous storyline that centers around a heist.
